About Me:

Formerly Director of European Affairs for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Cory Doctorow is a science fiction novelist, blogger and technology activist. He is co-editor of the popular weblog Boing Boing (boingboing.net), and a contributor to Wired and many other newspapers, magazines and websites

His multi-award winning novels are simultaneously published and released on the Internet under Creative Commons licenses, increasing his sales by enlisting his readers as promoters

His latest New York Times Bestseller novel, Little Brother, was published in May. A collection of his essays will be published later this year by Tachyon Books and a selection of comic books inspired by his short fiction is due to be released later in the year

He co-founded the open source peer-to-peer software company OpenCola, which was sold to OpenText, Inc in 2003. He serves on the boards and advisory boards of the Participatory Culture Foundation, the MetaBrainz Foundation, Technorati, and Onion Networks, Inc, amongst many others

Entertainment Weekly referred to him as "the William Gibson of his generation.” Forbes Magazine recently named him a Web Celebrity and the World Economic Forum listed him as a Young Global Leader of 2007

On February 3, 2008, he became a father. The little girl is a marvel that puts all the works of technology and artifice to shame
