“Breaking News” is an interactive installation treating a spectator as a crucial part of a creation. A spectator, using her mobile phones, has a direct influence on the visual manifestation of the art pieces and becomes a vital part of co-creation of this piece.
Mobile phone is a portal to an experience, thanks to which a user can be a part of the “bigger picture”. It is about a global interdependence – configuration where we all have a meaning. Without the active input of the spectator this art piece couldn't be completed.
“Breaking News” takes everyday headlines and positions them against personal news stories of spectators. Those stories are published and visually manifested as elements of a landscape. Shapes and colors change depending on a kind of received news – broadcasters or viewers. It shows ever-changing dynamics resulting from the confrontation of news stories we are fed by broadcasters and our own stories important to us individually.
